The property: an old stone barn originally renovated in the 1990s with open-plan living space.

​

Aim: the new owners wanted a modern, easy-to-clean kitchen with plenty of storage and a central cooking island facing into the living area.

​

Constraints: supporting post for mezzanine, half-height retaining walls, large American fridge/freezer, doors, window.

​

Design style: modern meets French oak.

​

Bespoke features:  central island, dog feeding station, supporting poles for mezzanine.

Aim: the owners wanted a modern, easy-to-clean utility area with plenty of storage. As owners of 3 small dogs requiring regular grooming, it was important to have a sink that the dogs could fit into and a surface area to dry them.  And a flexible spray tap for easy washing.

Constraints: 2 doorways, a small window with a deep ledge, a large hot water tank, and a large central heating boiler.
